back in Toronto

So I'm back in Toronto for a few days then off to the states to give a talk and meet some students at Portland University and then to Norway to do Haircuts by Children and present at a conference.

The flights were uneventful: Melbourne to Sydney, sydney to LA, LA to Toronto. Watched a little TV and some dumb movies, read a little, struggled on a book I'm struggling with and farted a lot. Long flights give me gas.

Got home at midnight and had a veggie burger and two Dragon Stouts at Ciros, a great bar by my place. Was sleeping by 2AM.

I'll be editing a little bit more video over the next few days, so keep coming back. and putting up some more photos.

Newsboys has been my favorite so far

For those of you who don't know what the newsboys is it is three guys who stand outside Myers and pretend they are newsboys selling the paper and we saw Patti Smith after which was really good

It was also really sad because part of her exhibition was about her friend who had died from AIDS I also saw desert island dances and DJ spooky they were alright but newsboys was better

deliberations

we did a bunch of the deliberations yesterday. We have 3 more shows to see so it's not final but it's close. It was CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 hours of MAYHEM!!!!!

we didn't use the tally that we had created on the evaluation forms, thinking some discussion would be interesting. and if you find 41 people shouting out their opinions interesting then it was interesting but it didn't resemble a discussion.

it was tough enough in Toronto when we had a jury of 13, this was @#%&* insane.

So we've gone back and did a straight tally to determine the winners. It's fair but doesn't involve much in the way of deliberations but I think a lot of discussion has been happening amongst the jury members

ANYWAYYYY
two more days before the ceremony. 3 more shows. One is the Tim Etchells show with the cast of kids. I'm really interested to see what the jury makes of that.
