Workshop #1 at the Willy-Brandt-Schule in Mühlheim a.d. Ruhr

WE'RE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's official: THE CHILDREN'S CHOICE AWARDS ARE BACK AT THE RUHRTRIENNALE!

After a wunderbar run at the 2012 Ruhrtriennale, we're back to do CCA once more in Deutschland. Today we got started, and met our first 60 students (of 100 total!!!) at their schools in Mülheim and Duisburg.

Meet the class in Mülheim!

We debated What Kids Can't Do

They debated whether it's fair that kids can't drive cars and whether it's fair they can't vote.

In the afternoon, we met the kids in Duisburg. We started by talking to them about social art...

A few portraits

Debate time: Is it fair that kids can't have sex? Or vote?

There were some girls vs. boys moments...

And we got a big THUMBS UP for the first day!

On Tuesday we met the kids from school #3 in Gladbeck!

There was an impromptu singing session to the Beatles during our workshop

and another, very lively debate (post-breaktime waterfight!)

Tomorrow the jury starts brainstorming the awards they'll give out at the end of the Ruhrtriennale. Stay tuned to find out what they'll come up with this year....
